More than 3,000 civilians in Ukraine have lost a lower limb due to war: Project Letizia has developed an affordable and adaptable prosthesis for all types of amputation to give amputees the chance of a normal life again.

#FindTheOrange has chosen to support the project with a direct donation. Helping is easy, just click on the 'Donate' button above: 100% of sums received will be donated to this project.

The project is the brainchild of Cristian Fracassi, engineer and CEO of Isinnova who devised the low-cost mask for respirators used by Covid-19 patients. A specialised organisation active in Ukraine in fact contacted him to ask for help in developing low-cost prostheses: a maximum of €500 as opposed to the current cost of at least €5,000. In his words: "I chose to name the project Letizia because for me the word has a threefold meaning: to give back serenity and joy to those who have lost them, Letizia is the name of the girl who believed in the cause and helped us in the development, and finally Letizia is also the name of my mother, who is the person who taught me how to walk".
